KALAME IMAME MUBIN PART - 1
Recording - 8
Recording - 8
Farman No - 127 to 150.
Haq Mawlana Dhani Salamat Datar Sarkar Aga Sultan Muhammad Shah Imam has made the following Farman:
(282) Just as I love you, in the same way it is obligatory upon you to be engrossed in Ibadat. Perform Ibadat for two to four hours out of twenty-four hours of the day.
You should ponder upon the fact that there is no person in the world who can always lead a peaceful life. A man faces diseases, hardship, old age, and death. There are so many such hardships that befall a man;
Whatever pain a human being (insaan) goes through is seen as a bliss by the momin.
Even if a human (insaan) suffers leukoderma, leprosy, etc. painful ailments, a momin is neither affected nor saddened by them.
Even if a momin has the pain of leprosy, then too his heart remains luminous (Noorani) and clear (safed~white) like sea water (dariya). Whatever suffering befalls him, he does not take it to heart.
(283) Keeping the heart pure, one attains salvation (mukti).
There are some matters that are incumbent on a man. Firstly, he should pay attention to Farman. A man becomes pure through imaan. The analogy of the imaan is like water. If the water is clean, the sun is reflected on it, and then it is clearly visible. Similarly, to see the Noor, imaan must be clean.
Your imaan should be like a mountain. Even if a mountain is struck by the force of the wind, tunnel blasts, cannon shots, or electric shocks, it still never moves from its place. The imaan should not be like a tree that swings in the direction of the wind. Your imaan should be strong like a mountain.
Your eyes should be pure. If you look with pure eyes, you will see the Noor of God in everyone. If you leave the Farman and see with evil eyes, the eyes of the heart will gradually become blind. There will be darkness in the heart, and you will not be able to see the Noor.
(284) There are two roads for humans (insaan). One road is for becoming an angel, and another is for becoming an animal. From these two paths, the path you follow will take you to that road. If you take the road of an angel, you will become an angel.
When you wake up in the morning, be determined in your heart to follow the road of an angel.
(285) The Prophet issued a command to keep fast. The fast is meant to toil the body. Keeping taqiya (to conceal) is incumbent so that others may not backbite. It is obligatory upon you Haqiqatis to fast entire year for 360 days. These fasts are:-
(1) Do not lie.
(2) Do not commit treachery.
(3) Do not backbite anyone. In this way, 360 (three hundred and sixty) Haqiqati fasts are obligatory upon the Ismailis.
(287) Practicing the religion (dharam) is to be done inside the heart (dil). There exists a path between a momin and the Murshid. Al-Hamdulillah! If you have love in your heart, it would be enough. Everything stems from love.
(288) It is the duty of a murid to according to the order of the Murshid. If at one time there is a Farman to ignite a lamp, then one should do it; if there is a Farman to become a cook and prepare a meal, one should do that. Murids are not supposed to say that they would not do such work but would only do great work. Whatever the order made by the Murshid, it must be executed by the murids.
(289) I have behaved happily with some, reprimanded others, but all these are words of love.
(292) Al-Hamdulillah! Many from you have enrolled in the baitulkhyaal (mota kaam). This is a sign of imaan.
Spiritually, I am with you. You are my spiritual children, and the soul is one.
(293) Haqiqati momin should remain steadfast on my Farman. If instructed not to perform Dastboshi (kissing the Imam's hands) for six months or a year, a Haqiqati momin must accept the Farman and not even consider performing Dastboshi. But when ordered to do it again, he should be ready for it.
An army can not act according to its own will. Without the order of its commander, it can not move either one step forward or one step backward. In the same manner, Haqiqati momins should act according to my Farman.
You are aware of the reward (sawaab) one gets by giving the Maal-e-Waajbat. However, if I give an order stating that anyone who gives Maal-e-Waajbat will be a sinner, then you must not give it. One should act according to my Farman. Anyone who gives (Maal-e-Waajbat) without my order would also be considered a sinner.
If ever I order you not to recite Dua for six or eight months, then you should just do that for that period. In this way, only those who act upon my Farman are the Haqiqati momins.
Like an army, you should act according to the orders of your commander. The way a porter, at his will, walks for a while on the road and for a while off the road, to act in such a manner at one’s will, is not the way of a Haqiqati momin.
Haqiqati momin must always keep their sights on the Farmans.
(294) Wherever there is a gathering for majalis, going there to gain benefit is the sign of being imaandaar. The benefit can not be gained by sitting at home.
I pray that you may consume the most valuable fruits (meva) of our Satpanth din; otherwise, what is the benefit of just kissing my hand?
(295) A telegraph reaches from one village to another. Your heart too is like a telegraph. Perform Bandagi in such a manner that its benefit reaches you like a telegraph.
The person who is a Haqiqati momin commits good deeds. Paradise is always in his hand. He keeps his imaan very firm and walks on a true path. For him Paradise is in this world. You must act as if your heart is in Paradise.
There is no person born in this world who has never been deceived by Satan. When Satan instills doubt in your heart, remove it by getting engrossed in Ibadat.
The world should be put away from the heart with intellect. If you put away the world without using intellect, then little by little, your imaan will diminish.
Imaan is a gem. If you do not treasure it in the vaults of your heart and throw it away on the road, then that gem will leave your heart. Ensure with utmost care that the Haqiqati gem does not leave your heart. If you do not tell lies and do not use even a single word of lie, then, inshallah, no one can snatch the gem like imaan from your hand.
(296) Just as you are presenting Mehmanis to me in zahir, likewise, my momins present Mehmanis to me, day and night, in batin.
(297) The practice of Ibadat sustains the imaan. It is the sign of the imaan to continue the Ibadat.
Make my Farmans reach your soul. This is a great matter.
Taking care of the time of your Ibadat is better than all other work.
The sign of a momin is that he does not ever talk senselessly or unreasonably. He speaks only when there is a benefit, either in din or in duniya, and does not engage in meaningless or useless chatter.
(298) You pray to me, but what benefit will you gain from just my Dua? My Dua benefits only those who are courageous.
You may concentrate your thoughts on me for 3 to 4 hours during Ibadat-bandagi, but I remain in the thoughts of a momin throughout the day, 24 hours a day.
Courage is necessary in the work of the majalis; without courage, the work of the majalis won’t last for long.
(299) In the past, during the reign of my ancestors in Egypt (Misar), there was a great institution by the name of Darul-Hiqmat. Certain matters of the din and of the duniya were being taught there. In the end, the murids became so lacking in courage (na-himmat) that they even left their Imam and remained where they were. For this reason, that work could not be continued.
Similarly, if you too become courageless, it will be damaging to you.
If adequate arrangements for the majalis are not made, then how will you know what is going to happen tomorrow? All arrangements for the future should be made in advance.
Although missionaries are greatly needed and it is necessary to go around villages to preach, however, there should be such pious preachers (bhagats) available.
There is a huge loss in being ignorant (intentionally) in the work of faith (din).
(300) It is the duty of every Jamat to keep on reminding my Farmans to everyone—the young and the elderly. The knowledge of my Farman should be imparted in schools and libraries so that all may remember what my Farman is.
You must assist in the improvement of our knowledge (ilm). You must be eager to translate books of other languages into Gujarati to strengthen our din.
If you have affection for your din, consider how arrangements can be made for the Jamat to sit in a good place. How can Ibadat be performed in the Jamat comfortably? And how can the children study knowledge (ilm)?
(301) Your din will gradually be revealed like the sun. The wise and intelligent amongst you who possess knowledge (ilm) will be happy to see it.
You are the believer of the soul (ruh parast); therefore, you should remain believer only of the soul. The one who befriends the zahiri din by merely washing hands and feet can not gain any benefit in Mawla’s din; therefore, you must remain believer of the soul.
(301) Just as the sun rises and its brightness is revealed, in the same way, the Light of our Faith (din) will become manifest.
Look into your heart and see within your soul, that is My Noor.
The face i.e. the body of everyone is but mortal (khak). Body, even gets afflicted by the illness; but nothing happens to the soul.
Only he, who is in love with the soul, is a God’s believer (Khuda parast)! He who has his sight on the body is an idolater (boott parast)!
With the soul of every man is linked the Noor of Imam.
A momin's heart is the bungalow for the Imam to reside in, and it is based upon the love.
If that Noor is seen, only then, the trait (khubi) of the Imam is known. The trait (khubi) of the Imam is the Noor itself!
(302) Whatever may be the Farman made by the murshid, you should accept it without hesitation. You must not argue as to why such a type of Farman has been made. If I say it is night, then it is night; and if I say it is day, then it is day. You should just act according to the Imam's intellect (aql).
The root source of man's intellect is but the intellect of the Imam. There is no reason to use your intellect to intervene in the Imam's intellect.
I say that whatever it is, it is only the soul. Therefore, seek out what it is. From where has it come? That Noor should be looked for!
(302) By the grace of God, you now have the benefit of the old Ginans and my Farmans made at various places. Such benefit was not available to the people in the past; hence, remaining unaware of the din, they used to do evil deeds. They were not able to understand the Shariat, Tariqat, and Haqiqat comprised in this Ismaili din.
The way to meet God is through ‘Word’. Understand the meaning of that Word and act accordingly. The important thing in it is imaan. Without imaan, Satan cheats and deceives you.
(303) The foundation of Faith (imaan) is based on love (ishq). Just as the foundation of Ibadat is based on action (amaal), and the foundation of action (amaal) is based on love (ishq), similarly, the foundation of faith (imaan) is based on love (ishq).
How should love (ishq) be like? Just like a thirsty person in a barren desert yearns for water, in the same manner, the soul should have love for the Imam.
Love should not be on the Imam's body but on the Imam's soul.
(304) Whether people listen to the waez or not, missionaries must continue giving waez as per their duty. Those who act in this manner and are true missionaries.
The world is like hell. Even if one has a fortune of a thousand, two thousand, or even a crore (ten million) rupees, and a lifespan of a hundred or two hundred years, everything is like a poison.
One, who serves my momin, serves me. A momin’s soul is my soul.
Any momin who strives and reaches in my presence from far-flung areas, I give my blessings to him. Thus, in the next world, his path is made easy.
The Ismaili din is like the Noor. You must become like the Noor.
Follow the path of Ismaili din firmly. Give education to the children about the din, ilm, Dua, Ginan, Farman, history, etc., and make them strong on the din.
(305) Alhamdulillah! Many of you have done the spiritual work; they are obligated to improve their conduct and act upon my Farman; if they do so, it will be considered that they have done the spiritual work.
Understanding the belief of the Ismaili din, be certain in your heart and do not take steps behind. If you move forward, you will become like aasmaan from the position of the earth.
Those who are not aware of the knowledge (ilm), make them aware of spiritual matters like you.
(306) Always come to Jamatkhana and provide understanding of the Haqiqati din to all by interpreting the Ginans.
(307) You all bring matters of the world to me, but you ask nothing regarding din. How disheartening is this?
Your heart just does not become clean by clay and water when you drink Niyaz/Aab-e-Shafa.
The one who does not recognize my form (swaroop) gains nothing from drinking clay and water.
(308) A Haqiqati momin should know the knowledge (ilm) of duniya and din properly.
(309) Those who aspire to learn the Quran must learn from the one who knows the Quran’s Haqiqi (true) meaning.
You Khojas do not have the knowledge of several dini (religious) books. Many of you have never read such books of din. When you read these books, you will understand, and you will not get worse. By reading those books, your intellect will testify that your din is true, and you will be sure about.
When you read the books Diwan-i-Shams Tabriz and Mathnawi Maulana Rumi, you will know, how it plays out in other region. Your religion exists in all the regions.
Pir Sadardin taught you ilm in your own language. In the same manner, the people who went on our behalf to show the path of din preached in their own languages. It is better to read such books than to waste time on unnecessary conversations. Do not forget my Farman; remember them in your heart.
You should clearly understand the meaning of din so that you come to know how the elders of din were and how they drew close to God.
If you study philosophy, you can get closer to God.
Pir Shams, Pir Sadardin and Mowlana Rumi had studied philosophy abundantly and had also studied the Quran-e-Sharif with its meaning.
It is not that only Pir Shams, Pir Sadardin, and Mowlana Rumi were able to become such. If you, too, strive hard and study, you can become like them.
(310) Some individuals only think about collecting wealth, meaning becoming like donkeys. What is the benefit of this?
A wise man (insaan) should hold a high ambition; that is, the soul must but return to its Original Abode (asal makan) from where it has come, He should reflect on it. He should reflect on where the soul will go after dying and muster such courage that he reaches the Original Abode (asal makan).
Just as the water of a great river flows into the vast ocean, so too does the soul of a man reach the vast ocean. The soul also has its ocean. The soul, too, will go there. One should aspire to reach the Original Abode (asal makan).
You must have heard that facilities for aged horses are created to provide them with shelter (panjrapol), where they have a variety of food and relaxation. Similarly, if Paradise consists of delicious foods and comfortable sleeping places, then it is not truly Paradise but merely a stable. Horses eat and sleep in a confined shelter, arranged for their care. But Momins should not desire this.
Those who are momins should aspire to reach the asal makan (ultimate abode).
You must think, what is your soul? When you commit evil deeds, it asks you not to do so; when you commit good deeds, then it says that the work you are doing is good and asks you to do it.
(311) You must reflect from where the soul has come? Where shall the soul return? Those who have studied the books of philosophy know all this.
Such knowledge (ilm) is incumbent upon you.
Read and understand the books of philosophy. In it lies great courage.
You come to me to get medicine for an illness, but I am not a doctor. I am a doctor of the soul. I am not a doctor of illnesses related to the head or the body. I am the doctor of your soul; therefore, put the Farmans you hear into practice, for you will benefit from it.
It is suitable to read the Quran-e-Sharif also with wisdom and prudence, but one who reads the Quran-e-Sharif without wisdom and prudence is like a donkey. You will benefit if you read it with wisdom.
There is an Ayaat in the Quran-e-Sharif: “From God we have come, and unto Him we shall return.” If you read this with wisdom, only then will you understand such words.
You find my Farmans harsh and difficult to grasp, yet it is my duty to make Farmans for you.
Just like seeds are sown in the earth, sow my Farmans in your heart; it will yield good rewarding fruits.
Inshallah, you shall be with me.
Ya Ali Madad
