Farman No - 87 to 126.

Haq Mawlana Dhani Salamat Datar Sarkar Aga Sultan Muhammad Shah Imam has made the following Farman:

(217) A teacher (master) should be intelligent, and he must also be well-versed in spiritual knowledge (ruhani ilm).

The person whose imaan (faith) is intact is truly rich. What difference does it make if you do not possess wealth? If you have the courage to practice your faith, then you have inexhaustible wealth. Service to the Sarkar (Imam) is the only true wealth of the momin, and this is the characteristic of a momin.

(218) He is an insaan (human being) whose imaan is firm on din and who never feels arrogant. Be engrossed in Ibadat.

(219) In matters of religion, it is necessary for the murids to have love for the Pir. It is also necessary to witness the deedar of the Pir. The batini love is a sign of the relationship between the Pir and the murids. Try to keep strengthening the knot of the rope of love that is between you and me.

(219) You should perform your Ibadat properly. You must not give up your Ibadat. Even if you are bedridden with illness, you must not give up your Ibadat. Even if you are on a journey, continue performing Ibadat. As long as there is a breath of life in your body, do not give up your Ibadat.

(220) If, the first time, you do not perform the task of practicing Bandagi assigned to you sincerely, and before completing it, you aspire for a bigger task, you will not gain any benefit.

You are now in possession of a gem. When I come next time, I will examine the gem and then give you another gem that will be more valuable than the earlier one.

What benefit will you gain from a tree that does not bear fruit?

(221) Just as an animal is led to the lake, and later, whether to drink water or not is its wish, I show you the path; whether you walk on it or not is your wish.

(222) As long as I am here, I will always come and make Farmans to you every day. As long as I am here, I will always pour the water of Noor into your heart and make your heart Noorani. You too should come to hear it, then you will benefit a great deal.

The heart of a momin is the house of God.

Always be like angels. A momin must keep the eyes of their heart clean and pure. One gets the penalty of fire when one casts an evil eye after witnessing the deedar.

I have come here in person, and you are witnessing my deedar. When I am not by your side, that is, when I am not present here, even then you must keep your heart in such a pure and clean state that you can see me directly in your heart.

(223) The Jamatkhana you will build and present to me, in return, I will grant you a house of Noor in Paradise. The house of Noor is much better than the house of gems.

There are two Eids in twelve months, and whenever I visit, it is always the occasion of Eid, but when you build a Jamatkhana and present it to me, there will be Eid for all the twelve months.

When people go to Karbala, they see houses made up of gold, stones, and clay in their physical form (zaheri). So, what is (gained from) it? An esoteric (batini) house should be made, which is indeed useful.

(224) A human (insaan) being is the one who aspires to elevate upwards. Apart from that, in this world, a human being (insaan) is just an animal.

If one’s soul reaches its Original Abode (asal makan), that is good. Let it not happen that the soul only remains here (stagnant) and eats and sleeps like an animal.

The difference between a human (insaan) and an animal is that it is possible to become an angel from a human being (insaan). But to become an angel from a human being requires tremendous effort If you strive hard, you will reach. You should develop courage. Firstly, your imaan should be extremely strong.

Follow my Farman; obey my Farman. Except for me, do not obey the word of anyone, whoever he may be. You should not even follow the Farmans of my children unless I give you an order to do so. Unless I assign them authority, you should not follow their Farman.

Do not think that, so and so devotee (bhagat) or so and so person will take you to the Original Abode. I am the only one who will elevate you higher. Except for me, this devotee (bhagat) or that devotee can not take you to the Original Abode.

(225) Love is the foundation of the din. How strong is the foundation of love? It is like a foundation made of rock. If the foundation is made up of solid rock, you can build any number of buildings and floors on it. Love does not flourish in the heart of a person who holds grudges.

Those who are of double standards (be-rang), meaning that they have a deceptive appearance; those who are different at heart and different in appearance; love does not flourish in their hearts.

(226) Angel is pure.

In this world, people run here and there in pursuit of aggrandizement (leadership). Do not run after power because the one who becomes leader carries a huge burden of responsibility. Taking good care of the Jamat and serving the Jamat, etc., is an enormous burden.

You should be strong in the Ismaili din. Ismaili dinis a batini (esoteric) din. Purify your batini vigor. Do not have doubts about your din-mazhab. If you have doubts, you will lose your imaan. Doubts arise from committing bad deeds. How can your imaan stay strong when there is doubt?

You desire worldly aggrandizement. Worldly aggrandizement is dirty. The governor does not sit in a dirty place. You say that you want to become a governor while you also sit in a dirty place, which is not possible. You say that you want to become an angel, but if your deeds are bad, how can you become an angel?

(227) If you practice Ibadat, practice in such a way that you become an angel.

Look! There are four angels. Their stomachs are always full of Ibadat. You should also do the same.

The angels do not keep their mouths closed. Bandagi is their food. If you also perform such Bandagi, you too will become angels.

When you wake up from sleep in the morning, implore God, “I will not commit deeds that are unlawful and against the Farmans (na-farmani).” Always ask for this from God when you wake up from sleep.

The way you see me now in zahir, similarly, always consider me to be present with you while moving, walking, sitting, and standing. Your love and affection are in my heart.

In this world, your home does not exist in Mumbai, overseas, Kutch, Kathiawar etc. or any places. Your home is in my heart, and my home is always in your heart.

"Momin and the Murshid are never separate."

(228) Those who are in favor of keeping the school running, God will make their houses prosperous (aabaad). Their wealth and their children will prosper, but for those who stop the functioning of the school, God will destroy their homes. Someone who shuts down the school will be ruined.

(229) It is a matter of great regret that none of you have come forward to work on the matter of religion. Pir Sadardin, Pir Hasan Kabirdin, Pir Nasirdin, and Pir Sahebdin endured so many reviling words and hardships without caring for their lives and wealth and arrived in India to preach and show you the true path (Satpanth) and the house of Nar-Shree Islam Shah!

Currently, you do not have any hardship at all. I am paying salaries despite that; you can not conduct the work of religion with courage.

You wish to become like Pir Sadardin, how could that be possible? You do not possess courage, so what else can be done by you?

(230) God forbid, if the teacher becomes sick, dies, or goes on medical leave after becoming ill, then immediately search for another teacher in his place. Do not take it lightly, and do not keep my school closed.

You do not face any hardship. All you need to do is find a teacher, which is the only effort required.

The old lady who passed away in Jamatkhana was very fortunate that she died in the house of God, and she easily entered Paradise.

A momin’s place is not in the graveyard. The place of a momin is in Paradise.

(234) As you are my army of love, then sit under the shadow of love, so that a tree of love and affection grows in your heart. Water that tree of love and affection in such a way that your imaan may remain steadfast. Do not commit such deeds that a fire erupts and burns that tree.

A clean heart is such a tree that, if given water of truthfulness, bears fruits (meva) in the form of love.

(236) In the work of din, if you lose your reputation, wealth, children, let it all go, but protect your din.

(238) The outer skin of a fruit appears good, but if you eat its skin, it will taste bitter, and you will not be able to savor the fruit’s taste. The outer skin of a fruit appears good, but it is upon eating the inner pulp of the fruit then will you relish its flavor and sweetness. Likewise, your din is filled with pulp (magaz), that is, it is filled with Noor.

My din is like a straight path. When you walk straight on the path, you will reach your village, meaning you will reach your Original (asal) Noorani Abode. If you do not walk on the path, and just stand, then how will you reach your destination?

Many people go to many places on foot, and finally, after a lot of hardship they reach there and all they see there are graves. The graves do not ask questions or give answers to them. No matter what they ask, the graves will never give them an answer. If you run in greed of water, eventually all you will see is dust. When you visit many places and see there, besides graves and dust, you will not see anything else.

Remain steadfast and firm in your faith. Moreover, it is written in the scriptures that a believer who focuses solely on external things (zahir parast) is bad. Esoteric followers (batin parast), that is, believers of esoteric matters, are better. You should also become a batin parast.

(239) Why dont you read My Farmans in Jamatkhana? One who forbids reading and interpreting my Farmans is an enemy of the faith (din).

Farman and Ginans should be allowed to be discussed in Jamatkhana. Don’t ever forbid it.

One who interprets the meaning in Jamatkhana should interpret the matters of haq politely and sweetly. Let there be no force.

While interpreting the meanings of Ginan-ilm, the recognition (shanakhat) of Hazar Imam is shown.

(240) You, Jamat, just on the day of Chandraat, with love and affection, come together in Jamatkhana, likewise, you must get together always at maghrib’s time and always discuss ilm-Ginan and arrange waez. Do not be lazy or negligent at all in this task; Then your soul will always remain white (pure).

(242) Do not have such thoughts that a daughter should be married only to a rich man. If you just see the wealth and give her hand in marriage to him, then what will you do if he later becomes poor?

The man should be healthy, faithful, capable of sustaining a livelihood, and posses good character. You will benefit tremendously if you get a daughter married to such a man. So, what if one is poor?

Keep my Farmans in your heart and pay attention.

(246) God will grant barkat in the deeds of those who commit virtuous deeds. All the barkat will not be granted in a day, but slowly and gradually, the barkat will increase. One day they will reach a higher level.

(247) When unable to recite Dua on time, then recite one tasbih extra.

The ‘Ajampiya Jaap’ that you have is not there with anyone else in the world.

(248) I remember each and every momin.

You, too, should never forget to remember me. Do not miss even a day without remembering me.

The heart of a momin is like a telegraph and a telephone. At one end is Murshid, and at the other end is a momin. When you remember me, I remember you at the same time. Externally (Zahir), it remains unknown to you that I remember you; even then, my blessings always reach you in batin and will always continue to reach you.

(250) You are my murid and are like my Haqiqati children. There is no separation between the murid and the Murshid; they are always one. In this way, always keep your heart strong and be one at heart (ek-dil).

(251) Take care of your souls such that you become angels; rather, you attain the status even higher than the angels. One whose deeds are good and pure, whose imaan, heart, tongue, ears, hands, and feet are always free from sins, will reach a status higher than that of Gabriel (Jibril); therefore, if you remain careful, then you will also reach a status that is even higher than that of Wahi-Gabriel (Jibril), Mikael, and Ashrafil.

Keep your eyes (nigaah) always on the All-High, and do not look towards the ground. Your aim must always be to reach the aasmaan. The Bandagi-Ibadat must always be performed with pure heartedness.

(252) In the past, in Iran, Nasir Khusro, Hasan bin Sabbah, Pir Sadardin, etc. who became the well-known lions of din.

Although I am aware of everything in batin, it is incumbent upon a momin to inform me in zahir as well.

I pray deeply with my heart that you walk on the true path.

(259) Keep your imaan like Mansur’s.

Look! Mansur did not forsake his imaan even when he was sent to the gallows (shuli). As Mansur was put to the gallows, blood came out of his body; even from that blood rose the cry of An-al-Haq (“I am the Truth”).

Finally, he was burned. Such is the sign of imaan.

If you will keep the imaan firm and steadfast, then you will become like Mansur and the angels.

A momin can attain a status even higher than that of an angel. You are also on that path. There is a lack of unity. You do not have unity (ek-dili). If you nurse enmity amongst yourselves and if there is even a little evil in the heart, then you will not progress on the path which you have taken.

When you wake up in the morning, pray, “May my imaan remain steadfast, and may I stay away from the acts of na-Farmani and commit the good deeds of Farman-Bardari." Pray in this manner, and take panja with your heart. May the thoughts of union (ekhlaas) remain in your heart.

(260) You develop virtuous habits, you will not commit sin. Committing evil deeds will be as difficult as climbing a mountain. When this happens, doing Ibadat will feel easy.

I have assigned you the Ibadat, which is very easy.

(261) The physical separation is very severe, but, esoterically (in batin) you and I are not separate. I am always with you in batin. You and I are one. You and I are never separate at any time.

Even if I depart from you physically, in batin I am still with you in every breath. If your imaan is true, then I am close to you.

You have love for me, and I have love for you, so now there is no separation at all between you and me.

(262) The relationship between you and me is that of Pir Murshid. You are even closer to me than my child. You are even closer to me than my life (jaan). You are my Haqiqati momin. Khanavadan.

(264) A person who harbours jealousy infects his soul in his heart with that disease.

Externaly, a man’s body becomes impure, but the soul does not become impure. The soul is always pure; therefore, do not miss the time of performing Dua, Ibadat-Bandagi.

(266) Those who respect the Farmans of the Murshid are great, and that is in fact the true meaning of the din.

(267) A momin is not supposed to do whatever strikes his mind.

I wish that your prostration be accepted.

I remember you all Jamat daily and I pray that your imaan may remain secure. Your Bandagi may be accepted.

(268) Once, a person went to the Prophet to obtain justice for himself. The Prophet said, “If you do this one thing, then you will never be able to commit sin.” The person asked, “What is the kind of work that, if not done, prevents one from committing sin?

The Prophet then responded, “You should never speak a lie.” He went to his house and decided in his heart to never tell a lie. Later, he thought, “From now on, I do not want to tell any lies. Now, if I commit a sin, I will have to speak only the truth, which will make me feel greatly ashamed.” He reflected on this, stopped committing all kinds of sinful works, and started committing good deeds.

If you forsake the habit of speaking lies, then you will not commit a single sin.

(269) As long as man (insaan) is in this world, he is like a student studying at school.

Man (insaan), while he lives in this world, keeps on learning to become wise, intelligent, learned (ilmi) and courageous.

(270) To succeed after death, in the examination of the life hereafter (akhirat), four lessons are required to be learnt. These four lessons are as follows:

(1) Your faith (imaan) should be purified.

(2) Your deeds (amaal) should be purified.

(3) Your eyes should be purified.

(4) Your hands should be purified.

(I) Now, faith (imaan) should be purified in such a way that when your soul (ruh) gets purified by the intellect (aql) and love (ishq) it is then that your imaan can be considered to have been purified. When imaan gets purified, it can be said that you have succeeded in the first lesson. Imaan is based upon ishq. When ishq acquires perfection, faith (imaan) elevates to become one with the soul.

(II) What is meant by pure deeds (amaal)? And how can they remain pure? To keep amaal pure, one should be in remembrance at all times. Keeping this remembrance is very difficult because Satan deceives man (insaan) all the time. Only Haqiqati momin is able to save himself from his deception.

(271) (III) If you nurse even a slightest of evil thought in your heart for other people's wealth or women, you will be at a great loss. For those whose eyes are pure, it is easy; no sin will be committed by them !

For a man whose tongue, hands and feet are not pure, it is very difficult.

(272) The soul resides within a man's body. Whatever habits you instill in it, they will be adopted. When a man gets physical training, he is considered as an bodybuilder. To become a bodybuilder, he subjects his body to various types of strenuous drills from an early age and, in this way, gradually, develops the practice of doing exercise. In practising to have his body bend in different ways, he endures the pain caused thereby. When he gets accustomed to it properly, he is able to do the exercise with much ease. Eventually, he acquires so much of strength that he is able to break a coin of a rupee into pieces with his hands.

The same is true also with your soul. Give your soul too such a practice that it always does good-worthy acts. When the soul will get used to do virtuous acts, then, your soul will become like that of an bodybuilder and like that of an angel, rather, it will attain the status even higher than that of an angel, and then, you yourself will be able to do miracles.

I pray for you. You give your soul such a training that it can do miracles and you are able to recognize your real self (asal jaat).

If you give your soul the practice of doing virtuous deeds, then, gradually, your body will become freed from animality viz. beastliness and, ultimately, before death, your soul will become like that of an angel.

(273) You are on a path through which man (insaan) can become an angel. But that path has many obstacles, but with practice that path becomes very easy.

(274) As long as man (insaan) is alive in the world, the Water of Noor remains inaccessible for him because God forbid but if after twenty, thirty or forty years he again becomes arrogant (magroor) and starts doing evil, sinful acts, then he turns to become like that of a Satan.

For an example, listen! Azaziyil had ascended up to the seventh aasman by doing Bandgi, but he had not understood the essence of religion. He did not obey the Farman of God; hence he became Satan and fell onto the earth. You, too, whilst you are in the world, must never become arrogant (magroor), must not commit even a tiny bit of evil act.

(275) Just as a swimmer, while crossing a river, is pushed in other direction by the waves of the river, and when the water-currents carry him in the direction opposite to that which may be intended by him he does get dragged away by water to some distance. But if the swimmer is agile, then, ultimately, he manages to cross over the river.

The same manner, this world is like an ocean. If the faith (imaan) and love of a man are true, even then, just as a skilled swimmer is obstructed by the waves of the ocean, he will certainly, have to face many obstacles. But by devising ways and means, he will be able to reach the dry land (clean pure).

Seek to find your dry path.

If you intend to find dry path, then you must purify your soul and lead your soul everyday on the true path. By this way, you will find dry path.

Your dry path is beyond the seventh sky (asmaan). When you will reach there, you will get to the dry land and your heart will also convince you about it.

(276) on the path that leads to the dry land of the seventh sky (aasmaan) from this ocean-like world, Satan showers many types of rainfall. By causing dissension, enmity, lies etc., he showers thousands of different types of rainfall on that path and does not allow momin to reach the dry land.

If any momin desires to please God day and night and not submit to Satan, then his first duty is to please the heart of the one who is a momin.

(277) When Satan causes the rain of fire, then water is needed for it, and the water is God Himself.

You know that in Africa a tiny insect is found by the name of Dudoo. It gets entered into the foot of a person. Initially, the person feels no pain at all, but as the insect gets bigger after sucking blood, it becomes very difficult to pull it out, and the person starts feeling severe pain. Eventually, his foot gets to rot, and there remains no choice but to amputate the foot. When the foot is amputated, does the patient get relief !

But, as soon as this Dudoo gets entered into the foot and causes itching sensation, if it is pulled out at that time with a needle or something similar, it comes out easily and the man suffers no loss at all. Do not hold envy at all in your heart. You must be very fearful of envy.

(279) Nurture such love for me within your heart. Your body alone should be with you, but your soul should be with me.

(280) The way you strive to gain worldly benefits, in the same way you should also strive to progress in the din. The work of the akhirat will be more useful to you than the work of the world (duniya) in the life ahead.

If you have less imaan but your heart is pure and your deeds are virtuous, then your imaan will grow slowly and gradually to such an extent that you will become more faithful than the righteous faithful people.

When you come out of the house, to protect yourselves from the winds and the rains, you take a coat and an umbrella, then why don’t you take a coat and an umbrella to protect the soul (ruh)?

(281) You come close to God. You become an angel.

Ya Ali Madad
